Martin Luther King Jr. Day, 2020: “I Have A Dream”

I painted this portrait of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. a few years ago for a friend and it reminds me of the fact that he had a dream . . .
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

He led his people during years of resistance to United States government policies. He was killed by Indian agency police on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation during an attempt to arrest him, at a time when authorities feared that he would join the Ghost Dance movement.

VA National Art Competition
I submitted this portrait of Korean War era veteran, Jerry Hood, which won Best of Show at the local level and placed third at the national level.
Portrait Presentation to a Fellow Veteran
My wife and I went to the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center today to honor a fellow Veteran, Madison Palmer Jr. and present him with a portrait I made as a small token of appreciation for his service to our country.
Clock Tower
I made this piece for my daughter and son-in-law to remind them of Spokane, Washington! Especially since they live so far away in New Hampshire.
I made this painting on my iPad – the line art with Adobe Draw and the watercolor was done with Adobe Sketch.
Pick A Portrait Style
I created this portrait for Adobe’s “Pick a Portrait Style” Challenge with Adobe Illustrator Draw on an iPad Pro. Here are the details from Adobe Create: https://create.adobe.com/2019/3/26/pick_a_portrait_styl.html
