Today is the 211th Anniversary of Mexican Independence from Spain on the 16th of September, 1810. Below are portraits of two of the most prominent heroes of that era of Mexican history.
This is a portrait I made of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, (Also known As El Padre De La Patria “The Father of The Fatherland”) leader of the Mexican war of independence.

Feliz Cinco De Mayo! To celebrate, I painted this portrait of General Ignacio Zaragoza. He was the hero of the battle of Puebla, Also Known As Cinco De Mayo.
Portraits of PFC Mann and SFC Grandstaff have been installed at the Spokane VA Medical Center and are on display now.
The portraits of these two Medal of Honor recipients were donated by Antonio Romero to the Spokane VA Medical Center (Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center).
