Vietnam Veteran: Madison Palmer Jr., USAF (Ret.)

Spokane Veteran Madison Palmer Jr.

Continuing my series of Spokane area Veterans, I’ve painted this portrait of Madison Palmer Jr.

This one is very special to me, not only because Madison is a fellow veteran, but he is also one of my closest friends and brother in Christ. I presented him with this portrait at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington (Photos).

Madison served our country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. He joined in 1974 and became a Security Policeman. He was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford; Mather AFB, Ca; Anderson AFB, Guam; Dyess AFB, TX; Norvenich AB, GE and his last assignment was at Fairchild AFB, WA until his retirement in February of 1995.

  1. It is extremely pleasant and heartwarming to see this picture of a fantastic human being and dear friend.
I had the pleasure and honor to get acquainted to Madison while i was serving first in the Belgian Air Force Military Police and we stayed friends over all these years.
When i left the air force to join the city police of the city of Ghent in Belgium and becoming a captain, we kept contacting each other and still till today, Madison and his family is in my heart as in concrete and we never forget each other in our prayers.
I am truly blessed to have friends like Madison and his family.

    1. Thank you, Gilbert for your kind words about Madison. He and his family are very special to my family and I as well. We’ve been friends for the past 20 years since we met at the Base Chapel at Fairchild AFB.
