Vietnam Veteran

Steve Tamashiro
I presented the portrait to Mr. Tamashiro

I painted this portrait of Vietnam Veteran Steve Tamashiro. I was impressed with his selfless dedication to duty, honor and country. He has also served his local community as a fireman for the past 37 years. Mr. Tamashiro has seen four of his seven children serve in the armed forces as well.

I met Mr. Tamashiro last year with a fellow veteran, Bennett Traylor at a local restaurant for Veterans Day. Steve’s story was so inspiring that I was motivated to paint his portrait and asked if he would be willing for me to do that and he accepted.

After painting the portrait, I was honored to make the presentation to him at the Spokane VA Medical Center.
